Kollaboration New York’s Annual Midsummer Open Mic Night: Recap
Hey, KNY fans!
As you all might have heard, this past Tuesday we had our annual midsummer open mic night at Jebon in St. Mark’s. As we await more photos from the event to arise, our lovely staff member Sarah Tung recapped the event in her blog.
Here’s an excerpt from her blog below:
Matt Pana, drummer of the band Mitchell Grey and a previous KNY6 competitor, hosted the event. Proceeds benefitted APICHA, formerly known as the Asian Pacific Islander Coalition on HIV/AIDS. May is also Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
Four of the KNY9 finalists – Ivan Polanco, Grace Shay, Sung Lee, and Yut and the Hot Four – along with several other acts, took the stage, sharing their various talents. The audience was treated to musical sounds spanning the gamut from beatboxing to praise song to hip-hop violin, and much more.
Now that you’ve read the recap from one of our staff members, we want to hear what you thought of the event! Tweet us, write on our wall, or comment on our blog with what you loved about KNY’s Annual Midsummer Open Mic Night.
