Featured Up-and-Coming Group: The Asterplace

On the shortlist of up-and-coming artists in the J-rock sector is The Asterplace, an NYC-based Tokyo Melodic-Core/ Japanese Anime Rock Band. Having watched them perform live at the Santos Party House in Chinatown, NYC, I was struck by how energetic and passionate they were about their music.

After the show, the members were both approachable and excited to meet their fans, going out of their way to track down a photographer so we could take a huge group photo.

I’ve managed to become friends with some of the members, and I can say that they are some of the most talented, genuine individuals I have ever met. Their music, though not in my usual genre of choice, is so energetic and catchy that it has swayed myself and countless other unexpected fans.

The Asterplace has just returned from a highly-successful tour in Europe, performing in London, Napoli, and Dusseldorf, to name a few. Their fanbase has grown exponentially over the years, with fan pages popping up from Germany and Italy, in addition to their official page based in NYC. Each member has a unique look, personality, and style, which adds to the overall appeal of the band.
