Guest Judge Profile: Ellie Lee

Hey, KNY friends!

If you don’t already know, our showcase is on August 30th at NYU’s Skirball Center.  KNY9 is a showcase and also a competition, which means that we need judges!  In the upcoming weeks, we will be introducing you all to our guest judges who will be taking on the difficult task of choosing a winner for KNY9.  So, let’s get started!  First up, here’s VH1 host, Ellie Lee.

Born and raised New Jersey, Ellie Lee grew up eating Burger King, riding on her roller blades with her posse, and watching endless reruns of “Saved by the Bell.” Though she was an introvert for most of her young life, Ellie decided to come out of her shell when the most popular girl in the 7th grade embarrassed her for never speaking in class. Since then, Ellie has had a hard time keeping her mouth closed.

Coming from a family of retail owners, Ellie had not a single clue on how to break into the entertainment industry until an audition fell onto her lap. She ended up nailing the audition and thus, began the story of her journey into the world of hosting. She started off making YouTube videos interviewing local artists and somehow climbed her way to working alongside ex-teen-heartthrob Nick Lachey in VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz Live” as VH1 News’s brand spanking new pop culture correspondent. Amidst her undying love for hosting, Ellie simultaneously fell head over heels for acting. She was last seen in the indie film “All Those Sunflowers,” and just wrapped up the first season of her web-series, “Mea Culpa.”

Ellie can often be seen sitting on the NYC sidewalks playing and talking with strangers’ dogs. Aside from her passion for entertainment, Ellie rescues and fosters abused and neglected dogs. Her goal in life is make it in the industry and build an animal sanctuary for all kinds of perfect, sinless creatures.

Oh, and her drink at Starbucks is an iced dopio with soy milk-if you were wondering.
